Upscale, attractive, tables not too close together. Every item was well received and enjoyed. We split a couple desserts. We ordered a wood fired pizza and it was very gourmet. Polipo Alla Piastra Veering away from making a menu choice, Jill thought the description of the Snapper Special sounded too delicious to ignore. The outdoor area is lovely as well. We love Beulah and will return.
The restaurant is on one of the 'quiet' blocks of Main Street, and therefore there are fewer hassles getting in and out. The Snapper Special with Grilled Scallop and Shrimp Once again, hooray for seafood, and big thanks to the Scallop Fairy for gracing this fabulous dish. Although highly recommended and rated, we found Beulah to be relatively mediocre. We've dined here many times since first trying it in March 2016. For our meals we chose the following: Tuna Tartar: Sushi grade tuna, avocado, jicama, lime, soy sauce, crostini. The underlying texture was crunchy and sticky providing a contrast to the fish. The roasted tomatoes added a depth of flavor. Upon entering one is welcomed by George with the warmth and charm of an old friend. The menu had something for everyone. After placing our order, the waiter disappeared into the kitchen, and I decided to change my order. Bartender was welcoming and we had a nice interaction with her. The decor is wonderfully eclectic making you feel like you are at someone's home.
It is a lovely dining spot as well as place to meet a friend for lunch. We had a lovely table as requested near the window. This was a very pleasant surprise. It was almost a year ago that I stuck my head in the back patio of the space formerly occupied by Divino Restaurant, only to find co-owner Harva Cristofoli up to her elbows in dust and splattered with paint. Capuccino and expresso finished off a fine dinner, but we had no room for dessert! After reading a few reviews I made the reservation for our party of 5. We are hoping that it was just a fluke, as the service is normally wonderful.
The menu at Beulah is not too large but does offer a range of choices including wood fired pizzas, chicken, veal, beef, and pastas. There are many other wonderful places to eat that would've made the switch or informed the patron that a charge would be applied. Unfortunately the pasta over cooked, gummy, and lacked any firmness. Reservations are recommended by calling 941. The next week, we returned with 8 people and 6 out of the 8 had good food.
We were met with a warm welcome and seated at a beautiful table for two. Roasted Mussels: Mussels in blush wine, herbs buttery garlic sauce, served with spicy garlic toast. We dined here on a Friday night. That was a real wow! He asked how to divide the checks which we appreciated. Salt a bit overpowering for me.
Service was terrific, attentive but not intrusive! The feast for your eyes would fill you up! Some of the glass pieces were handed down to her from her grandmother. My family loved their food and the waiter and management were very accommodating. The veal scalloppini was very good as was the fish dish and chicken dish. We will be going back for sure. Layers of flavor, smoky, creamy, and garlicky. The owner came right over, and when I explained what I wanted, he went right into the kitchen and made sure the order was corrected.
Those disappointing experiences occurred more than a year ago. Veal dish prepared as ordered. Gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and other dietary restrictions can be accommodated. SautÃ© vegetable side was cooked properly, not overcooked or overly sauced. We had a light meal of smaill plates and wine and the host topped everything off with a free dessert and was very charming.
And as I mentioned, the bar offers complimentary appetizers on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. . The octopus and jambalaya were thoroughly enjoyed by my spouse and me. The lady bartender made it special for us. I understand the name means âto marry âor âmarriageâ in the Old Testament, but do not let the name fool youâ¦. The Bar is very popular and is used not only for enjoying a drink but also for dining. Ordered sparkling water, and recieved warm bottle of Pellagrino.
